Backtalk is a series of print and sculptural works examining text in public and public-private areas. What do we mean to communicate and who is the intended audience? Who might ‘overhear’ and how does intervention to the original text alter its impact and meaning?
Some text is captured photographically and recontextualised, and some text is recreated from the artist’s memory.
Works from this series were shown at:
Concrete, correction fluid, chain, steel, photopolymer photogravure on calico, photopolymer photogravure on cotton rag, drypoint etching on fabric.
