I Miss the Way We Used to Talk is a body of work concerning the idea that all relationships have a primary medium, a form of technology through which they are conducted. The ways in which we speak are tied to technology. (In its broadest term: a sleepover, a practice of walking together are technologies just as landline phones and ICQ chat.) The words we use, the frequency and formality of communication, even the concepts that can be discussed are all part of the relationship’s medium.
Some relationships are able to exist multi-modally, and some are lost when their medium is no longer available. This body of work is concerned with lost mediums, whether to time or technological obsolescence.
I Miss the Way We Used to Talk was shown at Artemisia Gallery in August-September 2025
