Monstrous World is an installation that invites the audience to physically step into a personal experience of anxiety. This world is dangerous and full of monsters. The monsters are domestic, and the monsters are sometimes the self. Even so, monsters can be beautiful, whimsical and humorous. Using photography, textile art, sculpture and light to create an environment to be explored, this work challenges the isolation and silence of mental health through a reinterpretation of the monstrous.
